About KCNext
KCnext – The Technology Council of Greater Kansas City is the recognized regional technology effort for the Kansas City area.

The Technology Council is promoting the region’s tech sector, supporting its members and galvanizing the tech industry by leading activity driven by the following objectives:
Recruit and Build Employment
- Recruit and attract technology companies to the greater KC region, generating new jobs to support them
- Grow the existing base of technology firms in the KC region through workforce development and industry advocacy
- Support our emerging, fast-growing tech firms by better coordinating regional business services and entrepreneurial resources to improve start-up success
- Collaborate with tech company partners to attract VC firms and other motivated funders to the region
Amplify Our Assets
- Coordinate and implement national publicity and marketing strategies to promote the region’s tech industry
- Maintain a strong online and social media presence to promote the KC area’s tech/IT assets
- Track and influence national rankings of significance for the regional tech industry
- Monitor and publicize national research studies on KC’s tech industry and workforce
Educate and Network
- Increase the tech/IT workforce pipeline via active partnerships with area colleges, universities and small business organizations
- Host educational programs that showcase nationally-and regionally-known tech industry leaders, CIO or CTOs and tech innovators to provide relevant industry news, software trends and updates
- Foster networking through events, sector collaboration and joint calendaring and co-promotion
- Engage and convene the region’s leading technology strategists, especially CIOs and CTOs with major area corporations, to guide our regional tech strategy
- Advocate for the interests of members and stakeholders in the regional tech industry
