According to an article released by Silicon Prairie News, the Midwest outpaced every part of the country, except the South, in terms of percentage growth of venture capital investment during the second half of the last decade. From 2005 to 2010, the Midwest region saw a 103-percent increase in venture capital investment. VC investment grew from $706 million to $1.435 billion during this five year period.
